What is about “Practical Accounting for SMEs"?

Accounting services are required by all sectors of economy, from industry to public services, from commerce to accountancy practices. The professional is dynamic and rewarding, and opens up a world of possibilities.

"Practical Accounting for SMEs” has been offered by the HKIAAT since 2005 for senior secondary students. The course is designed to arouse students’ interest in learning the basic principles and skills of accounting and has become one of the most well received Applied Learning courses. It is a good accounting foundation course for students to have a taste of the profession so that they can make an informed decision in their career and further studies.
This ApL accounting course does not only touch on basic accounting theories – it also trains students to use accounting software (MYOB and Excel) which is widely used by small and medium enterprises. The course uses the daily operation of a SME as a blueprint. Through different contexts, students should be able to understand the full accounting cycle and various accounting operations in different forms of SMEs through the application of accounting software.
