As reported in earlier issues, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("HKICPA") will progressively roll out its new Qualification Programme ("QP") in June 2020 (Associate Level), December 2020 (Professional Level) and June 2021 (Capstone Level). Given that the last offering of the AAT Examination is being held in December 2018, this will be the last issue of T/Dialogue.

As regards the Professional Bridging Examination ("PBE"), the last offering of the examination will be in December 2019. Thereafter, students can opt to transfer their credits to the new QP to continue on their journey to become CPAs. I would like to encourage all HKIAAT members/students to explore the variety of entry routes to the Professional Level offered by the new QP. The new QP also includes exemptions for the Associate Modules to members and students who possess eligible academic backgrounds. We believe that the revamp of the examination structure will offer a "full package" to those aspiring accountants who wish to pursue the CPA qualification.

May I wish you all a fruitful and joyful 2019!
