I am pleased to announce that our parent institute, the HKICPA, will issue the Position Paper on the new Qualification Programme ("QP") in the new year of 2017.

The Position Paper sets out the final content, structure and design of the new QP to be launched in June 2019. It also paves the way for transformation of the HKIAAT. Students of the AAT Examination and Professional Bridging Examination, as well as AAT members, may refer to section 5 of the Position Paper for details of the transitional arrangements. A list of frequently asked questions concerning the new QP will also be available for information. Please visit the HKICPA website (www.hkicpa.org.hk) or the HKIAAT website (www.hkiaat.org) in early January 2017 for the full details of the CPA qualification framework under the new QP.

This comprehensive revamping project cannot be accomplished without the support of our stakeholders. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your steadfast support. HKIAAT shall devote itself to ensuring a smooth transition to the new QP in the coming year.

May I wish you all a fruitful and joyful 2017!

Thomas Wong
President of HKIAAT
