Applied Learning for Senior Secondary Students

Train-the-trainers Programme

The Institute will be delighted to provide training for school teachers. This will be delivered in collaboration with course providers at a fee calculated on a cost recovery basis, and will be available to those who do not fully meet the qualifications and experience required. Details of the programme will be announced in due course.

Professional Development Programme for Applied Learning Course

In July 2007, the HKIAAT organised a Professional Development Programme for secondary school teachers who are interested in taking part in the implementation of Applied Learning Course (ApL).

The programme comprises 10 three-hour sessions which are delivered by instructors from the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Lee Wai Lee). Topics entail an introduction to ApL and its assessment method, familiarisation with practical accounting software (MYOB), ApL class observation and lesson delivery experience as well as visits to the HKIAAT Secretariat and a CPA firm. The programme aims to help teachers get up-to-date with the latest developments in accounting concepts and practice so that they can better advise their students.
