Applied Learning for Senior Secondary Students

Overview

The HKIAAT is the first professional body that has been invited by the Education Bureau to offer Applied Learning (ApL) course (formerly known as Career Oriented Curriculum) in accounting – "Practical Accounting for Small and Medium Enterprises". The course is designed in such a way to meet potential employers' expectations and needs of different levels of students. Those who wish to join the workforce upon graduation will find our course useful and practical, while those aspire to become a professional accountant will not only find it being a good foundation course but also enable them to have a taste of what is involved in being an accountant so that they can make an informed decision about pursuing further accounting studies.

This ApL accounting course has some special features. It does not only touch on basic accounting theories - it also trains students to use computer accounting software, which is widely used by small and medium enterprises, while the syllabus is designed in such a way that students can apply their learning in daily operations as an accounting clerk. The course will also leave students able to attempt the HKIAAT Accounting Technician Examination, which is well-recognised by the private sector and the government.

We would be most happy to answer any queries you may have. Please send your enquiries to ApL@hkiaat.org.
