Professional recognition
HKIAAT membershipStudents who have successfully completed the Accounting Technician Examination are eligible to apply to become an Associate Member or Fellow Member of HKIAAT. Membership designation depends on the level of prescribed work experience gained. Please click here for more details.
Professional advancement
The Accounting Technician qualification is one of the pre-entry requirements (in addition to the completion of the Professional Bridging Examination, a Foundation Programme or an accounting degree accredited by the Institute) for registration as students of the Qualification Programme of the HKICPA.

The Accounting Technician qualification is recognised by many professional accountancy bodies who grant exemption from their professional examinations to holders of the Accounting Technician qualification. They include:

Employment
The Accounting Technician qualification is popular among employers, in particular among professional accountants. It is also recognised by the Inland Revenue Department of the HKSAR as showing that the holder has satisfied the relevant accounting knowledge requirement to be considered for the posts of Assistant Taxation Officer and Tax Inspector II.Academic Advancement
