The New Senior Secondary (NSS) curriculum aims to help candidates build a broad knowledge base and to foster the ability for them to learn throughout their lives. The Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians Limited (HKIAAT) has tailor-made a new Accredited Accounting Technician (AAT) Foundation Examination to meet the broadening NSS curriculum requirements and our local business needs.
This new AAT Foundation Examination has incorporated the Business, Accounting and Financial Studies (BAFS) syllabus as part of its professional training in the articulation path to becoming a CPA. It aims to develop and assess candidates’ understanding and application of basic accounting and business knowledge, skills and values which are required to meet different business needs. Passing the examination can assist candidates in pursuing a higher education in business, accounting or any other disciplines or starting out on a progressive career in accountancy from entry-level. It can also lead to further advancement opportunities in accountancy for those who wish to move on to the AAT qualification:

- The whole syllabuses of AAT Foundation Examination Paper 1 “Accounting and Business Essentials” and Paper 2 “Fundamentals of Financial and Management Accounting” have been covered by the BAFS curriculum, other than one sub-topic; and
