Examination matters

Technical articles for the forthcoming examinations
To assist students in preparing for the upcoming December examinations, we are publishing articles to explain certain difficult technical topics. Visit the AAT Learning Centre on our website to read these useful articles.

Library opening hours
To support students during their examination preparation, we will extend our library opening hours from 29 November to 11 December 2010.

The extended opening hours for the period are as follows:

Monday
Tuesday to Friday
Saturday
Sunday & Public Holidays
9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
9:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

Notes and regulations
Candidates should check to ensure that all details contained in their Examination Entry Acknowledgements for the PBE and AAT Examination are correct. +

Abolishment of PBE Special Topics from the June 2011 Session onwards
PBE special topics will no longer be available from the June 2011 examination session onwards. This is to be in line with the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs' qualification programme (QP) whereby special topics are not provided for module assessment level.

Examinable Financial Reporting and Auditing Standards for the December 2010 examination
Candidates taking the following examinations should note the list of standards relevant to these examinations:

Paper I: PBE Financial Accounting
Paper III: PBE Auditing and Information Systems

AAT Examination
Paper 7: Financial Accounting
Paper 8: Principles of Auditing and Management Information Systems

Membership and Studentship Renewal for 2011
Annual membership and studentship fees will be due soon. Members and students will receive their renewal package in early December 2010. The AAT membership fee is HK$700 while the student fee for the AAT Examination is HK$600. PBE students are required to pay a student fee of HK$700, which will be waived provided that they maintain an uninterrupted membership with HKIAAT. These fees will be due on 1 January 2011. All members and students are obliged to pay the annual fees before the due date. +
