The accounting profession plays an indispensable role in Hong Kong’s economy and its significance has never been more apparent than in today’s difficult environment. Ms. Annie Cheung, employer of AAT graduates, talks about the importance of having a professional qualification to help develop a career in accounting. AAT graduate Mr. Kay Cheng tells us about his journey in qualifying with the AAT and how it helps to realize his career goal.

New release of questions and answers booklets
Questions and answers (Q&A) booklets for the examinations held in June 2009 will be available for sale at the HKIAAT’s reception desk after mid-September. Each booklet costs HK$15.
Examination technique seminars
HKIAAT is organizing a series of examination technique seminars to help students prepare for the upcoming examinations. A free Q&A booklet will be distributed to participants. Come and join the seminars. Please note the enrolment details for the examination technique seminars for PBE and AAT Examination.

HKIAAT Scholarship
The HKIAAT Scholarship 2009-2010 is now open for application. Full-time students of HKIAAT accredited programmes who have achieved outstanding performance in academic and extra-curricular activities are eligible to be nominated. +
Reciprocal membership Agreement with AAT Australia
The HKIAAT is pleased to announce that it has recently entered into a reciprocal membership agreement (RMA) with the Association of Accounting Technicians Australia (AAT Australia). This is the second RMA of its kind that the HKIAAT has signed with an overseas professional body, following the RMA with the UKAAT signed in 2006. Under the RMA, members of both bodies will be mutually recognized and members will be eligible to apply for the membership of the other body. The RMA will further enhance the status of HKIAAT in the international arena.

Promote a wisegiving culture
To promote a proactive wisegiving culture in the society, The Hong Kong Council of Social Service has published a brand new book, “心 ‧ 思 ‧ 量 WiseGiving”. This book introduces wisegiving with substantial giving tips and shows the positive changes brought forth to the beneficiaries. Please find an online version of the book for more inspiring stories and see how wisegiving can support your philanthropic initiatives.
