Library opening hours
To help our students in their examination preparation, we will extend our library opening hours from 21 November to 23 December 08.

The extended hours for the period are as follows:

Monday 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Tuesday to Friday 9:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
Sunday & Public Holidays Closed
 
Professional Bridging Examination (PBE) and Accounting Technician Examination (ATE)

PBE and ATE candidates should check to ensure that all details contained in their Examination Entry Acknowledgements are correct and read carefully the notes and regulations for the December 2008 Examinations. +

Examinable Accounting & Financial Reporting and Auditing Standards in the December 2008 Examination
Candidates taking PBE Paper 1 – Financial Reporting, ATE Paper 7 – Advanced Accounting and ATE Paper 8 – Auditing should note the list of standards relevant to the forthcoming examination. +

 

Certified Accounts Clerks (CAC) Qualification

HKIAAT 20th Anniversary Celebration
The HKIAAT is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year. Established in 1988, the HKIAAT has contributed significantly to the development of accountancy profession in Hong Kong. To commemorate this important milestone, a celebration dinner will be held on 27 November 2008 and a congratulatory supplement will be published in Hong Kong Economic Times and Ming Pao Daily.

Membership and Student Fees for 2009
Annual membership and student fees will be due soon! Members and students will receive their renewal package in early December 2008. For students of the Accredited Accounting Technician examination, there will be a slight increase in the student fee to HK$600, while the membership fee stays at HK$600. These fees will be due on 1 January 2009. All members and students are obliged to pay the annual fees before the due date. +

HKIAAT Teachers' Conference – New Qualification Framework
The HKIAAT Teachers' Conference was successfully held on 25 October 2008 at Park Lane Hotel. The aims of the conference were to explain the syllabuses and requirements of the New Qualification Framework (NQF) and to foster a closer tie between the educational institutes and HKIAAT. Over 80 guests, faculty members, AAT Advisors and speakers participated in the conference. The teachers expressed strong support for the NQF. They believed the new syllabuses will help their students to achieve greater success in their careers. They considered the event very useful and practical in helping them prepare their students to study the NQF in June 2009. +
