It is my great honour and privilege to be elected as the President of the HKIAAT for this year. Firstly, I would like to sincerely thank our immediate past president, Mr. Thomas Wong, for his excellent leadership and my fellow Board members for their dedication.

In recent years, the HKICPA and HKIAAT have devoted tremendous efforts to the CPA qualifying process reform and the transition to the new Qualification Programme ("QP"). In accordance with the Position Paper on the new QP issued in January 2017, the last offering of the AAT Examination and Professional Bridging Examination will be held in December 2018. Students who intend to sit these examinations before the last offering are reminded that the closing date for the examination application for the June 2018 session is 31 March 2018.

As regards the Reciprocal Membership Agreements ("RMA") entered into with international professional bodies, I am pleased to report that we have extended the RMA with the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand ("CA ANZ") to 31 December 2019, giving full recognition to our AAT members through membership in the College of Accounting Technicians.

Last but not least, beginning with this issue, our T/Dialogue will be issued on a quarterly basis. Please stay tuned for my next update in June 2018.
