As was reported in the last issue, the HKIAAT was in negotiations with the Association of Accounting Technicians United Kingdom ("UKAAT") and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand ("CA ANZ") for the renewal or extension of the current Reciprocal Membership Agreement ("RMA") for HKIAAT members.

I am pleased to inform you that UKAAT has agreed to renew the current RMA until 31 December 2020. We shall hold further discussions with CA ANZ on the current RMA, which will expire on 31 January 2018, and provide more updates in due course.

These RMAs with overseas professional accountancy bodies provide additional opportunities for HKIAAT members. I hope that our members will take advantage of the RMAs and grasp the chance to expand their horizons.

Thomas Wong
President of HKIAAT
