I am pleased to inform you that our parent institute, the HKICPA, has issued the Consultation Paper on proposed changes to the CPA qualifying process early this month. The consultation paper sets out the proposals on enhancing the CPA qualifying process for the development of the new QP.

With the launch of the new QP, holders of AAT and PBE will have a direct pathway to the CPA qualification framework. The AAT Examination and PBE will no longer be offered after 31 December 2017, and cross-credits will be offered to our existing students and members. A comprehensive set of transitional arrangements has been designed for AAT members and students, in order to ensure a smooth transition from the existing structure to the proposed requirements of the new QP.

The proposed changes are explained in detail in this consultation paper for comments. Information sessions will be conducted to enable stakeholders to better understand the proposals and to exchange their views with the Institute. You may click here to view the details and to register for the information session.

Your support and feedback on the consultation paper are crucial to the reform of the CPA qualifying process for the betterment of the accounting profession!
