I am pleased to present the annual report of the HKIAAT for the year 2013-2014. As pointed out in the annual report, HKIAAT has been facing stiff challenges in recent years because of the changes in the education landscape and manpower needs. In response, HKIAAT has paved the way for transformation by initiating a reform project of the CPA qualifying process which aims to streamline the current qualification system and examination structure of the HKICPA and HKIAAT in order to develop an enhanced CPA qualifying process to better meet market needs. The blueprint for a new era of accounting qualifications will probably be issued in early 2016. We shall devote ourselves to ensuring the success of the reform project in the coming months.

Thomas Wong
President of HKIAAT
