Further to my report on the renewal of the Reciprocal Membership Agreement ("RMA") with the Association of Accounting Technicians United Kingdom in June this year, I am pleased to inform you that we have also renewed the current RMA with the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand until 31 December 2019. Through these RMAs, HKIAAT members can broaden their career prospects to include the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. These agreements also ensure that our AAT members will be able to continue to use the AAT designation after the dormancy of HKIAAT.

With the release of the Position Paper on the new Qualification Programme ("QP") and the preparation work for the launch of the new QP, 2017 was a year spent sowing the seeds of an enhanced CPA qualification framework for the betterment of the accounting profession.

As this momentous year draws to a close, let me take this opportunity to wish you all a Prosperous and Happy New Year!

Thomas Wong
President of HKIAAT
