The Consultation Paper on “Proposed Changes to CPA Qualifying Process” was issued in early June 2016 with a 3-month public consultation period, lasting until 31 August 2016.

Eight information sessions with around 350 attendees were conducted in July 2016 to explain the Competence Blueprint, the structure and curriculum of the new Qualification Programme ("QP"). A number of responses have been received via various channels, and respondents’ valuable suggestions will be taken into consideration in refining the new CPA Qualification Framework prior to the issuance of the Position Paper in late 2016.

The reform project is immensely important for the HKICPA, HKIAAT and the accountancy profession. On behalf of the HKIAAT, I would like to thank all of you for providing your support, feedback and suggestions on the Consultation Paper.

Thomas Wong
President of HKIAAT
