This is where we post and answer students’ questions about the accounting profession and the AAT qualification. If you have any questions you would like to ask us, you are welcome to send them to sandy.ku@hkiaat.org. We are always pleased to answer your questions.

Question in this issue:
Andy Wong: I am a Form 7 student and waiting for my HKAL results. I am interested in pursuing a career in accounting but I may not be able to continue my studies due to my family's financial position. Could you please give me some career advice?
Our answer:
Having a professional qualification is essential for a career in accountancy. However, you don't have to be a full-time student to work towards a professional qualification. You can join the workforce and pursue the AAT qualification via self study. Persons aged 16 or above are eligible to register. The AAT qualification opens doors to multiple further education and professional development opportunities, such as CPA. You can click here to find out more about us and the qualification.
